چکیده

Abstract The canine transmissible venereal tumor (TVTC) is a neoplasm transmitted mainly through copulation and with high incidence in stray dogs Brazil. In the process of evolution TVTC, progression, stationary regression phases are recognized. host immunity related to disease’s biological behavior, however, spontaneous observation cases naturally occurring TVTC uncommon. A patient was attended, after beeing rescued from street, due an ulcerated mass external genitália tick infestation. Cytopathological examination, which diagnosed laboratory tests that showed mild anemia severe thrombocytopenia were performed. view impossibility carrying out other exams, it made presumptive diagnosis monocytic ehrlichiosis (CME), treatment instituted. During follow-up observed quick improvement clinical signs changes, as well reduction mass. new cytopathological evaluation carried out, verified increase mature lymphocytes plasmocytes midst cells, finding compatible phase disease. From moment on, decided perform only follow-up. following evaluations, continuous remission findings those described observed, until its complete remission. It considered general health CME simultaneous performance serial exams may be feasible useful for monitoring stages TVTC.

Cytomorphological Study of Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor

Introduction Canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT) is classified as a round cell tumor. It always revealed in round to ovoid shaped cell, moderate amount of vacuolated cytoplasm with a large round to ovoid nucleus and prominent nucleoli (2). However, Amaral et al. (2007) reported that CTVT cytomorphology was classified into three types according to the majority of cell type population: pla...

Cytologic subtypes of canine transmissible venereal tumor.

Canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT) is a transplantable neoplasm that has stimulated much scientific effort to determine its cell of origin, mode of transmission, and reasons for spontaneous regression as well as similarities with other types of animal and human cancers. In 1994, on the basis of the hypothesis that different cytomorphologic types of CTVT may have different biologic behav...

The Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor: Etiology, Pathology, Diagnosis and Treatment

Introduction Transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), also known as infectious sarcoma, venereal granuloma, transmissible lymphosarcoma or Sticker tumor, is a benign reticuloendothelial tumor of the dog that mainly affects the external genitalia (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2) and occasionally the internal genitalia (Fig. 3a, Fig. 3b, and Fig. 3c). As it is usually transmitted during coitus [1] it mainly occurs...

Overexpression of chemokine ligand 7 is associated with the progression of canine transmissible venereal tumor

BACKGROUND Chemokines play multiple roles in the development and progression in a variety of tumors. Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 7 (CXCL7) has been found associated with pro-inflammatory responses, but its role in cancer growth remains unclear. Our previous study showed that R phase tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) produced large amounts of interleukin (IL)-6 which antagonized transform...
